About

A five-room hideaway,
held by forest and hot spring

Foresta Hakone Onsen is a five-room inn in the forest of Sengokuhara, Hakone. Hospitality within arm's reach — a milky natural onsen, wagyu kaiseki, a mossy garden, and the luxury of doing nothing at all.

There are things
only a five-room inn can do.

Add more rooms and you stop seeing faces. Meals go out at the same hour, the same printed notes are handed round, and guests become room numbers rather than names. There is nothing wrong with that. It is simply not the path we chose.

With five rooms, every one of us knows who is arriving today. We can have the bath ready for your arrival time, remember how you like your food, and pick up last time's conversation when you come again. Staying small is what makes that possible.

It is the same reason we speak with you directly on LINE, from your first question before booking to any request during your stay. With nothing in between, we can answer faster and more precisely. If this is your first time in Hakone, ask us how to spend it — we would rather you asked than wondered.

Sengokuhara has grand hotels, celebrated museums and busy sights. Our role is not to compete with any of them, but to stay quiet here in the forest. We work hard so that you can do nothing at all.
